Hallmark Health receives grant from The Massachusetts Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®

June 4, 2010- Hallmark Health System, which includes Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford and Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, is pleased to announce that the organization has received a sizable grant from the Massachusetts Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. “For the Best Health, Remember Breast Health” is a three-part education and support program meant to serve women in Burlington, Everett, Malden, Medford, Melrose, North Reading, Reading, Stoneham, Wakefield, Wilmington, Winchester, and Woburn.

Hallmark Health begins journey toward ‘Magnet” recognition

May 21, 2010- Hallmark Health System, which includes Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford and Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, is pleased to announce the organization has officially begun its journey toward Magnet nursing recognition.

Hallmark Health submitted its formal application for Magnet recognition to the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) earlier this year. Magnet recognition is the highest and most prestigious international distinction a healthcare organization or hospital can receive for nursing excellence and outstanding patient care. It is considered the “gold standard” for nursing.

After 40 years of delivering babies, Dr. Bernard Logan is on a second generation

Dr. Bernard Logan has delivered more than 10,000 babies in a career that spans 40 Mother’s Days. But for the past decade or so, the 68-year-old Lynnfield resident has been enjoying his own professional rebirth of sorts.

Logan has delivered more than a dozen babies whose moms he once delivered.

 

Hallmark Health awarded Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission

May 13, 2010- By demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission's national standards for health care quality and safety, Hallmark Health System, which includes Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford and Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval™ from the recent on-site accreditation survey that occurred in December 2009.
