Hallmark Health welcomes new corporators

MELROSE, MA - March 4, 2009- Hallmark Health System recently announced the election of four new members to the corporation.

Hallmark Health's corporators keep the organization connected to the communities it serves by advocating on Hallmark Health's behalf and acting as a liaison with the community, bringing feedback back to the organization. Members of the corporation also attend Hallmark Health's Annual Meeting and actively participate in the election of the organization's Board of Directors.

New Diabetes and Endocrinology Center now open at Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford

MELROSE, MA - March 5, 2009- In response to the epidemic of diabetes in men and women living in Massachusetts, Hallmark Health System announces the new Diabetes and Endocrinology Center at Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford is now open and accepting patients.

The new center treats adult patients who have Type 1, Type 2 or Gestational diabetes with a comprehensive program including education, support and management. Patients will also have the benefit of attending monthly group education classes to discuss topics like exercise, health habits, meal plans and much more. Classes will be offered during the day and in the evening.

Wakefield resident named to Hallmark Health Board of Trustees

MELROSE, MA - Feb. 18, 2009- Hallmark Health System is pleased to announce that Wakefield resident Susan Glasser was recently named to the organization's Board of Trustees.

Hallmark Health's Board of Trustees is responsible for financial oversight of the organization, advocacy and community relations, ensuring quality and patient safety, including medical staff credentialing and privileging.

Lawrence Memorial/Regis College Nursing Program awarded simulation technology grant

MELROSE, MA - Feb. 9, 2009- Hallmark Health System announces the Lawrence Memorial/Regis College Nursing Program has been awarded a simulation technology grant by the state Department of Higher Education.

The grant award will provide the nursing program with a Laerdal SimBaby Patient Simulator. SimBaby, a mannequin that's the actual size of a baby, has realistic anatomy and interactive physiological responses including a heartbeat and respiratory sounds. SimBaby cries, has a pulse, blood pressure and many other features that allow for a very real pediatric experience in a laboratory setting, which is an effective way to prepare confident and competent nurses.

Hallmark Health event to highlight women and heart disease

MELROSE, MA - Jan. 13, 2009- Hallmark Health System announces the Third Annual Women and Heart Disease Seminar: HeartSense for Women will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital/Regis College School of Nursing, 170 Governors Ave., Medford. The seminar is free and open to the public.
