Pelvic Floor and Continence Rehabilitation Program

Hallmark Health's Pelvic Health Center offers a specialized rehabilitation program for individuals who are diagnosed with pelvic floor and continence disorders. The Pelvic Floor and Continence Rehabilitation Program is led by a specially trained and experienced physical therapist certified in pelvic floor and continence physical therapy. The program provides high-quality, personalized care for women and men.  By age 55, nearly half of all women will develop some type of pelvic floor, bladder and/or bowel condition. Early diagnosis and treatment is the key to retaining normal function and quality of life as quickly as possible.

After being diagnosed, usually by a specialty physician, patients often are referred to physical therapy for further evaluation and treatment. The Pelvic Floor and Continence Rehabilitation Program's physical therapist works closely with patients and their referring physicians to develop the most appropriate treatment plan. The program offers a comfortable, private and compassionate environment. Patients have access to the most up-to-date therapies for pelvic floor disorders, including biofeedback, electrical stimulation, vaginal dilators, manual therapy and visceral mobilization techniques.

The patient is encouraged to check with their health insurer, but usually the insurance plan's coverage, deductibles and co-pays that apply to physical therapy will also apply to pelvic floor physical therapy.

The Pelvic Floor and Continence Rehabilitation Program is conveniently located at Hallmark Health System's Stoneham Outpatient Campus at 41 Montvale Avenue. The phone number is 781-224-5829. For more about our program, please read our pelvic floor brochure.
