Multi-site Women, Infants and Children (W.I.C.) nutritional support program
The North Suburban WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture and administered through a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. WIC is a nutrition program that provides nutrition and health education, healthy food and other services free-of-charge to Massachusetts’ families who qualify for the program. Ask us about “Touching Hearts Touching Minds” our emotion-based nutritional counseling services.


Eligibility Guidance:
To find out if you or your children are eligible, please check the Massachusetts State WIC web site or call to set up an appointment, at any of the sites listed below.

Breastfeeding Support Programs:
Breastfeeding Classes are free and open to all WIC participants on both weekdays and Saturdays. To register, or for additional information, please call (781) 338-7570 or email us.
Malden WIC Baby Cafe: Offers breastfeeding support and assistance from professionals. Operated by Hallmark Health System lactation consultants. This cafe is funded by Massachusetts State WIC and is held at the Malden WIC Office on Tuesdays from 5 to 7 p.m.

Breastfeeding Peer Counseling: The Massachusetts WIC program promotes breastfeeding as the healthiest way to feed your baby. WIC provides education and support to breastfeeding mothers through the “Mother to Mother” Peer Counselor Program.
Parenting Support Program: “Mornings with Mom”- for any mother and her children of any age. This free program is held the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. The program includes a two-hour playgroup. Lunch is included for both parents and children. Please contact Madlyna Jonassaint at 781-338-7570 for additional information.
Farmer’s Market: This program is offered in the summer only. Farmer’s Market coupons are provided and can be used to purchase fresh picked vegetables and fruits grown and sold by local farmers at approved farmer’s markets. A list of approved Farmer’s Markets may be obtained at all of the WIC offices.
“Fit and Fabulous” Prenatal Exercise and Nutrition- for Prenatal Mothers from 16 weeks to term with their health care providers okay. Please contact Karen Andrews at (781) 338-7607 for more information and to register for this free program.
"Connecting and Caring": A program for 1st time mothers with children under the age of one and expectant mothers. It is held at the Woburn WIC Office on Thursdays from 11:30a.m. to 1p.m. Lunch is provided. Each week a different health-related topic is presented by community experts. “Mothers Helping Mothers” free Clothing Store provides gently used maternity clothes, baby clothes and children’s clothes from 2-6T, and other baby essentials such as bath tubs, swings,and blankets. Prenatal Mothers should register for the “New Baby Wish List”. Visits are by appointment only; please call (781) 338-7579 to schedule an appointment.
"Family Support Coordinator Program": Our family support coordinator helps WIC families coordinate services such as: SWAP, child-care, ESL, Mass Health and fuel assistance. Please call (781) 338-7570 for assistance.
Local Vendor List: A local list of vendors is available at every WIC site.
