The Safe Sitter® program was developed by pediatrician Patricia A. Keener, M.D..

Safe Sitter graduates gain confidence and learn how to handle situations that may happen as they care for young children. Injury prevention, getting help with emergencies, and learning how to rescue a choking infant or child are all components of the program. Topics such as safety for the sitter, running a babysitting business, as well as how to care for and nurture young children are also included in this tested program.
