Hallmark Health presents 28th Annual Melrose-Wakefield Hospital Golf Tournament
MELROSE, MA – June 5, 2009- Olympic Gold Medal winner Mike Eruzione will be this year’s celebrity golfer and featured speaker at the 28th Annual Melrose-Wakefield Hospital Golf Tournament, which will be held Monday, June 29 at Kernwood Country Club in Salem, MA.
Eruzione was captain of the1980 United States, “Miracle on Ice” hockey team and helped to lead the team to victory over the former Soviet Union in Lake Placid, NY. The team went on to beat Finland in the gold medal round. The team’s story was so compelling it was later made into the movie “Miracle” by Disney in 2004.
Eruzione, along with his father and son, have all received treatment at Hallmark Health’s Melrose-Wakefield Hospital and can speak firsthand about the quality of care they received.
“It is my great pleasure to participate in the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital Golf Tournament,” said Eruzione. “This is my way of saying thank you to the hospital as well as Dr. Robert Harney for the high quality care I myself, as well as members of my family, have received there.”
The event will begin at 11 a.m. with registration and lunch followed by a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. and concluding with a reception dinner in the evening.
Proceeds from the annual event will benefit the Hallmark Health Bone and Joint Program. Staffed by the best surgeons, nurses, therapists, physicians and rehabilitation staff, the Bone and Joint Program at Hallmark Health is the region’s leader in orthpaedic care.
