Hallmark Health System welcomes Dr. Lane
Aug. 23, 2012 – Hallmark Health System, which includes Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford and Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, is pleased to announce that Jennifer Lane, MD FACS has joined the medical staff as a general and bariatric surgeon.
Dr. Lane will join the Hallmark Health System Center for Weight Management and Weight Loss Surgery, located at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. This has been designated as a Center for Excellence by the American Society for Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery.
Dr. Lane earned her medical degree from the Brown University School of Medicine before going on to complete her residency in general surgery at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii. She served in the U.S. Army as a general surgeon for several years; this included time in Missouri and Georgia as well as deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. She also worked as a community general surgeon in Georgia. Her practice has always had a strong emphasis on minimally invasive surgery.
Dr. Lane recently completed a fellowship in minimally invasive bariatric surgery at Tufts Medical Center. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and also belongs to the American Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery and the Association of Women Surgeons.
