Maureen is the Oncology Clinical Specialist of the Cancer Center, an Outpatient Oncology/Hematology center at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, part of Hallmark Health System. Her role is to provide what is necessary to maintain the patient care for over 130 visits per week. This includes staffing, scheduling, patient and staff education, and monitoring the efficiency and quality of care. Her background is over 18 years in Oncology and Head Nurse of a Surgical floor before that.
Maureen is a member of the Oncology Nurses Society and the Boston Oncology Nurses society and has served on many committees over the years including Nominating, Legislative, Newsletter and speaker for the Oncology Certification Review course. She has also lectured on various topics related to Oncology.
She holds a Diploma from the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital School of Nursing, a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from Salem State College and a Master's degree in Nursing from Boston University. She also holds a Certification in Enterostomal Therapy from Boston University.
