Occupational Therapy services help patients improve their ability to perform tasks in their daily living and working environments so they can have independent, productive, and satisfying lives. Our expert licensed and certified hand occupational therapists work one-on-one with patients with physical orthopedic, neurological or medical challenges to not only improve basic motor functions, but also to compensate for permanent loss of function. From adapting daily living skills, to ergonomic education and to improving strength and flexibility of the upper extremity occupational therapy services deliver independent living.
The occupational therapy program focuses on various treatments to get people back to previous levels of accomplishing everyday living and working tasks by overcoming:
- Arthritis
- Carpel tunnel syndrome
- Fractures
- Tennis elbow, golfers elbow
- Post-traumatic and repetitive stress injuries
- Wound and scar management
Our Occupational Therapists perform a one-to-one initial evaluation to establish an appropriate treatment plan. They also work in conjunction with a patient's physician to deliver the ideal arm and hand therapy required to achieve effective results.
Treatments may include a combination of therapeutic exercises, manual soft tissue and joint mobilization techniques, and modalities to increase strength, mobility and dexterity of the upper extremities. We also offer custom splinting for a variety of orthopedic and medical conditions, as well as provide counseling on how to ergonomically set up work station environments.
Patients have a lot of choices when it comes to selecting an occupational therapist. While you will need a physician prescription for insurance coverage, you can choose your own provider and the rehabilitation services that are right for you.
We provide the most highly trained and committed staff, a full range of diagnostic and treatment facilities, and several convenient locations to enable us to provide treatment at all levels. But don't just take our word for it - here's what other people have said about our services:
"My OT is a wonderful therapist. She is patient and very supportive in the rigors of therapy. She was well prepared and explained instructions clearly. Thank you."
"Thanks for giving me back my wrist. It feels better than it has in 10 years."
"My OT was outstanding, patient and extremely helpful."
