03/26/2008 Hallmark Health names Founders’ Award recipient at annual meeting
Hallmark Health announces that Kathryn McCarthy, PhD, was recently awarded the Founders’ Award at the system’s Annual Meeting. McCarthy was presented with the award by Robert S. Cummings, chairman of the Board of Trustees. This is a special award recognizing the dedication and commitment of those community leaders who merged four hospital organizations into a regional health care giant and founded Hallmark Health System 10 years ago.

Hallmark Health System announces the appointment of Richard V. Price Jr., CFRE, as the System Vice President of Fund Development. Price has more than 25 years in health care philanthropy, having successfully raised money and designed fundraising strategies and campaigns for local and national not-for-profit organizations. His involvement includes membership in the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Association of Health Care Philanthropy and the New England Direct Marketing Association.

02/20/2008 Hallmark Health Offers Diabetic Support Groups
Hallmark Health is offering free Diabetic Support Groups at three locations to give diabetics in the community an opportunity to share their personal experiences, ideas and concerns with others. The support groups, a community benefit of Hallmark Health, will be run by Hallmark Health Diabetes Nurse Educators and will feature Hallmark Health medical professional guest speakers including cardiologists, endocrinologists, ophthalmologists and podiatrists, as well as representatives from nutrition and the pharmacy.

02/15/2008 Melrose-Wakefield Hospital Launches New Volunteer Program
Hallmark Health’s Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA has announced the launch of a new volunteer escort program. The volunteer escorts will be stationed in the main lobby of the hospital and ready to help hospital patients and visitors navigate their way through the facility.

01/23/2008 Lawrence Memorial/Regis College Nursing Program Recipient of Million Dollar Scholarship Fund
Hallmark Health’s Lawrence Memorial/Regis College Nursing Program announces the establishment of the Regina Petterson Wennerstrom Scholarship Fund. The fund, totaling $1,397,000, will enable qualified Lawrence Memorial/Regis College Nursing Program students to apply for and receive a scholarship to help pay for their nursing education, and its graduates to receive a scholarship to continue their nursing education at Regis College.

01/10/2008 Hallmark Health to Hold Second Annual Red Dress Day
Hallmark Health announces the second annual Red Dress Day Women and Heart Disease Seminar will be held on Saturday, February 2, at the Malden YMCA at 99 Dartmouth Street. This free community event will take place from 9:30 am – 2:00 pm and is sponsored by Hallmark Health System, St. Jude Medical, Boston Scientific, Malden YMCA and Healthy Malden, Inc.
