Speech Language Pathology services help patients overcome challenges associated with speech, language, cognition, communication, voice, swallowing, fluency, and other related communication disorders. Our licensed and certified speech language pathologist works with patients to help them develop, or recover, reliable communication skills so they can communicate, learn, and work to their fullest potentials. We offer the benefit of a full-service rehabilitation program so patients receive speech and specialty swallowing care as part of an integrated treatment program.
Speech/language and swallowing difficulties can result from stroke, brain injury or deterioration, or voice pathology. Our Speech Language Pathology department specializes in diagnosing and treating adult neurogenic disorders such as aphasia, Parkinson's disease, head injury, as well as other areas including laryngectomy, swallowing difficulties, and voice problems.
Our therapists use a variety of written and oral tests, as well as special instruments to diagnose nature and extent of impairment. We then provide an individualized treatment plan tailored to each patient's specific needs. Our personal approach also includes helping families cope with the stress and misunderstanding that often accompanies communication disorders. We help family members recognize and change behavior patterns that impede communication and treatment and show them communication-enhancing techniques to use at home.
We accept most major health insurances, workers compensation claims for industrial accidents, and motor vehicle accident cases. You will need a physician prescription for insurance coverage. Call any one of our locations for more information.
