“We are very excited to bring these programs and services to women in our area,” said Judith Sadacca, program coordinator who will oversee the program for Hallmark Health. “We are honored that the Massachusetts Affiliate of Susan G. Komen For the Cure chose Hallmark Health as a grant recipient and so thankful for their ongoing support.”
Hallmark Health hopes that by targeting women at an early age more will get the education they need to ensure good breast health and as a result bring us one step closer to decreasing breast cancer cases in our area.
In September 2010, Hallmark Health will use the knowledge learned through the “For The Best Health, Remember Breast Health” program to host a Breast Health Symposium for community residents of all ages. Information will be offered to educate women and their partners about their individual risk factors, breast cancer prevention strategies, and to encourage all women to schedule an annual screening mammogram. The services available through the health system for breast imaging, including the latest technologies, treatments and surgical options will also be discussed. Financial counselors, interpreters, and community partners will be represented to ensure that women understand that they are not alone in their journey to be healthier.
“For the Best Health, Remember Breast Health” begins in May of 2010 and continues until the spring of 2011. The program director may be reached at 781-279-2213. Interpreter and financial counseling services are available without charge for participants. Please visit www.hallmarkhealth.org for more information about this exciting new program.
