Melrose, MA, Aug. 5, 2011 – Hallmark Health Medical Associates today announced the addition of Jordan R. Gutweiler, MD, to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital located at 585 Lebanon St. in Melrose.
Gutweiler joins Hallmark Health as a surgeon, performing general and minimally invasive surgical procedures, primarily in the abdominal area. His patient-care methodology involves empowering patients by informing them about treatment options and considering their individual situations, preferences and needs.
“I believe in forming a partnership with my patients,” said Gutweiler. “I put forth my best recommendation and help them make the decision along with me.”
Gutweiler comes to Hallmark Health from Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA, where he served as administrative chief resident in general surgery and, prior to that, as a resident in general surgery. He has also conducted surgical research at Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA. A resident reviewer for Archives of Surgery, Gutweiler has co-authored numerous articles for surgical publications.
A resident of Arlington, MA, Gutweiler earned his MD from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed his internship in general surgery at Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, CT and gained additional experience in pediatric surgery as a junior resident at Children’s Hospital in Boston.
