The program, the only one of its kind in the region, specializes in providing evaluation and treatment of psychiatric disorders in the geriatric population including patients with co-existing medical problems. It provides a full spectrum of services including dedicated inpatient units for these patients, day hospital, adult day health, psychiatric consultation for medical, surgical and emergency departments, psychiatric consultation in nursing homes, outpatient care and an Alzheimer’s support group.
An interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers and other disciplines who specialize in providing comprehensive and compassionate care to elderly patients provide diagnostic clarification and a variety of effective treatments. Physicians and staff work closely with patients’ families.
