There is currently a nationwide recall of all products prepared by the New England Compounding Center (NECC), in Framingham, MA. The Hallmark Health System (HHS) Pharmacy Department does not receive any products from NECC. HHS is also discontinuing our use of all Ameridose products. The now closed Hallmark Health Cosmetic & Laser Center did receive one topical medication from the NECC, this medication was never used on a patient and this medication package has been segregated for return by the HHS Pharmacy, as outlined by the FDA recall notice.

NECC’s sister-company, Ameridose, in Westborough, MA, in conjunction with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) agreed to voluntarily cease production and distribution of their products, while the DPH can conduct a thorough investigation of Ameridose’s policies and practices, as a due diligence for public safety. HHS remains committed to delivering the highest quality patient care, and we have developed mitigation plans to deal with the temporary interruption in medications that would normally be supplied by Ameridose. If you have any questions about this situation, please contact HHS’ Communications Department at 781-338-7243.
