Prior to that, Dr. Brown spent time at Kirkland Air Force Base and the University of New Mexico Hospital as a general surgeon and oversaw training of new physicians.

Dr. Brown received his bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences from Western Michigan University and his medical doctor (MD) degree from Michigan State University. He then completed a 5-year residency program at the University of New Mexico Hospital. Dr. Brown maintains a strong interest in medical mission trips to underserved countries.
