Lawrence Memorial Hospital: Committed to the Future

Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford is not closing, but it is changing.

"The future for Lawrence Memorial Hospital is to provide the right type of care in the right setting that our patients want and need. This is our focus as we plan for the future." - Alan G. Macdonald, President and Chief Executive Officer, Hallmark Health

Lawrence Memorial Hospital is consolidating its inpatient medical and surgical services to its sister campus at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. This will allow for a vision for Lawrence Memorial Hospital that brings greater focus on ambulatory services, specialty care, emergency medicine and community services.

Community Emergency Care

Lawrence Memorial Hospital will continue to provide full-service, high-quality, 24-hour emergency care and remains a designated Primary Stroke Service Hospital by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. If an inpatient stay or more advanced care is required, patients will be transferred to the most appropriate facility to meet their needs.

Lawrence Memorial Hospital will continue to provide a full range of community services:

●  24/7 Emergency Department (satellite emergency facility)
●  Urgent Care
●  3D-Mammography (advanced screenings in newly renovated space)
●  Center for Healthy Minds
●  Center for Weight Management and Weight-Loss Surgery
●  CT imaging
●  Echocardiography
●  Endocrinology and Diabetes Services and Education
●  Geriatric Psychiatric Services
●  Inpatient Behavioral Health
●  Laboratory Services
●  Nuclear Medicine
●  Pulmonary Rehabilitation
●  Sleep Medicine Center

Community Programs

Through strong local partnerships Lawrence Memorial Hospital and Hallmark Health are committed to helping our communities stay strong and healthy. We provide community-based screenings, support groups, wellness programs and educational programs.
